Education Welfare Management System enables the service to give information to schools, families and
other agencies. This information can be split into two areas. Firstly it
contains details about how work concerning a particular school, family or child
is progressing (e.g. "who is involved with the family"? or "what was the reason for
a referral"? ). Secondly it records a historical view of how the service deals
with schools and families (e.g. "how many referrals from a particular school in a
year"? or "how long do cases remain open"?). The index is structured so that
rapid and comprehensive searching is possible even with vague questions. Thus
the index provides quick, easy and accurate access to the information both on a
regular basis and in response to specific requests."
